About Catholic Life Bristol
The idea for this project came when I was looking for a summer club where my daughter could meet other Catholic children: a community of friends that would help support her faith as she grew.
As I asked around, I kept hearing the same thing: “We did set up a group, but there wasn’t much interest, so it closed down”. What frustrated me was that I had never heard of these groups. It got me to thinking maybe the issue isn’t that there’s no interest, but just that we need to be thinking beyond parishes. This applies not just to younger kids, but to teens, young adults and beyond.
When some time opened up, I thought – just for fun – that I’d take a look at what’s going on at different Bristol churches, and pull together a calendar of events. And I was genuinely surprised: there’s a lot happening, but unless you know exactly where to look, it’s easy to miss. So finding myself with a bit of time on my hands, this project was born. Have computer: will code. I hope you find it useful.

How It Works
Events are collated from Bristol parishes by the team. If we have missed something then please get in touch.
Funding
We aim to keep the calendar up-to-date and the listings useful. We believe this idea of a hub to connect people is really important, so to keep it going we’ll be adding some unobtrusive and relevant ads to fund it. Nothing annoying, just things we hope you’ll find useful.
We want to be upfront: while this project is a labour of love, it’s also rooted in the principles of Catholic social teaching. One of those principles is the dignity of work and the rights of workers – including the right to a just wage.
So while this site may include modest advertising or other ways to support the time and effort involved, please know this isn’t about profit. It’s about sustainability and receiving fair pay for the work you do. It’s not a cynical money-making scheme. It’s not at odds with faith. It’s a recognition of human dignity.
