Mercy Group: Real support for real struggles

Life can sometimes feel overwhelming – whether you’re struggling with anxiety, low mood, loneliness, loss, or the challenges of illness or difficult family situations. If you’re looking for a safe, welcoming space to be heard and supported, you’re very welcome here.
The Mercy Group is a welcoming space where you can find calm, connection, and support. It was started by someone who experienced the long, difficult road of recovery after a serious accident and realised just how little emotional and psychological support was available. Out of that experience, the group was created – to offer others a place to be heard and supported, especially during the times when it feels like you’re facing things alone.
The group meets every Wednesday at Clifton Cathedral. It’s a relaxed, confidential environment where you can talk about whatever’s on your mind – or just sit quietly and listen, if that feels more comfortable. There’s no pressure to share anything until you’re ready. The first contact is by phone, text or email when a discussion is held on the support required.
As well as emotional support, practical help is also offered. This might include support with housing, benefit applications, or finding paid or voluntary work. The group exists to walk alongside you in whatever way it can.
Many who’ve come to the group over the years have said it’s been a lifeline – a space where they could be themselves, speak freely, and start to feel a little more hopeful.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed or just need someone to talk to, you’re not alone. Reach out by phone or email – there’s a warm welcome waiting whenever you’re ready.
