What is the Season of Creation?

The Season of Creation is an annual Christian celebration from 1 September to 4 October (the feast of St Francis of Assisi). It began in the Orthodox Church and has since grown into an ecumenical movement shared by Christians of many traditions.

In 2015, Pope Francis invited Catholics to take part, linking it with his encyclical Laudato Si’ on care for our common home. It is now a special time for us to pray, reflect, and act together to cherish God’s creation.
